Length Matters

Brandy Melville top, Urban Outfitters flannel, Textile by Elizabeth and James Cooper pants, Zara sandals

Kid you not, I got this flannel because of its perfect length when tied on my waist. Laugh as you may, but tied too short (my current flannel) makes it look stumpy, and too long makes it look like you’ve got a rag dragging behind. Keep laughing as you may, flannels have not only survived in fashion for decades, serve as a clothing piece, and now also as an accessory. Of course, the extended length is great too worn regularly as a tunic. Win-Win.

The waterfall tunic from Urban Outfitters is a style that they always carry and comes in different prints and colors. Super soft and drapey, it is regularly retailed at $58, but seem to always have one or more colors on sale. I waited a bit and got this one for $19.99, so try to wait for yours to save some money (to buy multiple colors?)

Oh, and I need to give a notable mention to the Zara sandals I got on clearance for $19.99 (down from $79.99 after two price reductions). I’ve been trekking around town in them since they’re so convenient and I love the exaggerated big buckles!

About Too Poor for Couture

A girl who loves fashion enough to slave away in the industry. For fun, for hobby, for inspiration, but definitely not for money (unfortunately). I don't study fashion like it's the bible nor do I know everything about it. Fashion should be fun, expressive, and effortless. Too Poor for Couture is my chronicle of fashion related thoughts, news, outfits, and randoms of a normal girl on a normal budget working un-glamorously through the fashion industry.
