Goodbye, Alexander McQueen

Starting New York Fashion Week on a tragic note – notable fashion designer Alexander McQueen was found dead in his London apartment at age 40. McQ has been struggling with depression after the death of his mother and the suicide of his mentor. His presentation was scheduled to show today but has been cancelled.

This is definitely a loss to the fashion and creative world. I’ve always dreamt of owning McQ’s designs. The closest I’ve came is owning a fake imitation of his skull scarf. (Mine cost around $10 while his is around $300~$500). I am especially obsessed with his iconic skull that he uses on zippers and on his. I guess I’ll never be able to own a piece of McQ. =( R.I.P. Mr. McQueen.

About Too Poor for Couture

A girl who loves fashion enough to slave away in the industry. For fun, for hobby, for inspiration, but definitely not for money (unfortunately). I don't study fashion like it's the bible nor do I know everything about it. Fashion should be fun, expressive, and effortless. Too Poor for Couture is my chronicle of fashion related thoughts, news, outfits, and randoms of a normal girl on a normal budget working un-glamorously through the fashion industry.
