Create Your Own Two-fer

Photobucket Photobucket

Two of my lovely guy friends had gotten me a bright gold skintight tube dress from American Apparel, but I went to exchange it for this skirt and a tank. I feel kind of bad…but this skirt can be paired with so many more things and create an outfit like this two-fer dress look.

Sorry for the lack of nice scenery in the background. Most of the pictures I take are by myself in my small apartment after work (usually when the sun’s gone already). I wish I had a professional photographer and retoucher to beautify my photos!

On a work note – today a superior of mine who’s pretty high up in the company left very abruptly, and later I found she was going to work for a competitor and was escorted out the day of. When I first started a coworker was escorted out the same day she told my manager she was going to a competitor as well. A designer’s assistant left last week, and another girl in my department is working her last week. The turnover rate is EXTREMELY high in the fashion industry. You’d think that in this economy things would be different – but since I’ve been working at the company for the past 9 months I’ve witnessed more than 10 people leaving! In this high stress, cutthroat industry, sadly it’s the norm.

About Too Poor for Couture

A girl who loves fashion enough to slave away in the industry. For fun, for hobby, for inspiration, but definitely not for money (unfortunately). I don't study fashion like it's the bible nor do I know everything about it. Fashion should be fun, expressive, and effortless. Too Poor for Couture is my chronicle of fashion related thoughts, news, outfits, and randoms of a normal girl on a normal budget working un-glamorously through the fashion industry.
