As mentioned in the previous post, the older I get, the more I see recycled trends. The theme at this year’s Met Gala was “Punk,” reminiscent of the 90′s when I was a teenager. I’m lacking some accessories (facial piercings would prob help too) that would be fitting for a complete punk look. My friend V. pointed out my tied shirt at the waist reminded her of a look from Pretty Woman. Man, I miss the 90′s!

TPFC Item: Urban Outfitters Ecote Helena Tall Buckled Caged Sandal Clearance: $9.99
On a TPFC sale on clearance excursion I scored these gladiator sandals for $9.99 (!) down from its original price of $59. My last pair of gladiators were worn to threads a few years ago, and I’m really glad they’re coming back, even though it’s a reminder that as trends cycle back again it also means I’ve been living long enough for them to see them repeat.

I am in no shortage of black tops, but when I do get one I focus on details that would differentiate them from my other black tops (after all, they are my go-to). This one is from Urban Outfitters on sale for $19.99 with a high slit on the side that can either reveal some skin or printed high waist bottoms like in this outfit. Super simple, comfortable, and versatile, definitely and good bargain.

Playing around with vertical stripes via a pair of leggings for $9.95 from Forever 21. Yes, $9.95! After I saw it on my friend I went online and it was sold out. BUT! My diligent self keep checking and they did come back in stock yet to be sold out again currently…so good luck!

If you must know, I think dogs > cats. I own both, but it’s evident I favor my dog. Doesn’t mean I don’t love my cat, but he is definitely moody at times, whereas my dog lets me be the moody one without complaint. 
Cat motifs and graphics have been popping up everywhere and I’ve adopted a few ‘cats’ myself like this sweater. The other day I purchased a cat t-shirt and remembered I have another cat sweater from years back that I plan to take out again to wear. Cats are definitely having a moment, and for now, (at least in the fashion world) cats > dogs.

I refuse to believe studs will ever go away. Adding it to anything gives it instant edge. The key is not to overdo it, have it as a focal point of an otherwise basic outfit. The outcome will receive plenty of attention – edgy but not over the edge!

My first time to Coachella came and went; and boy, was it all that I dreamt of. I love outdoor festivals, and the three day event definitely lived up to my expectations. Being able to run through the fields, lie on the grass, and dance to the music was such a luxury. I felt like I was in a different world and was able to take my mind off of work and real life. Till next year!

So did ya’ll know…OVERALLS are coming back? I had a denim pair from GAP in middle school that I must’ve worn 2-3 times a week. This one’s a jumper from Madewell from a few years ago, now back on rotation!

Runway and editorials are resourceful for upcoming trends, but street styles give me so much more inspiration and are more influential to my own sartorial life. Whether they are models, celebrities, random people on the street, street styles are more individualistic and fun. My latest girl crush comes in the form of model Cara Delevingne.
